When using a search engine, how often do you view the second page results? The 3rd?

Just because a search engine shows certain items you searched for on the first page, many believe those must be the most relevant sites. After all, that is precisely what the search engines tell us. We often hear “our proprietary algorithm was built to find the most relevant results to your search queries.” We STRONGLY DISAGREE.

This is how the search engines make their money.

If you do a search for anything preceded by the word “free,” you would expect to see sites listed that are free. Yet, only portions are free, such as “free signup,” “free searches,” “free “winks,” the list goes on. Inevitably, after giving out your email address, and other personal information, you will find that the services you want are NOT FREE.

We do not find such searches to be relevant at all. The search engines list these sites because they were paid to list them.

Since this is the case, and nothing seems to be changing this trend, we do look at sites on the 3rd, 4th, or even the last page because we know nobody usually will.
